A Cure For Wellness

A man cannot un-see the truth.
I went to the cinema for A Cure For Wellness. It was a bit creepy and cheesy, but I quite liked it.
That pub scene was really cheesy and almost ridiculous. I know what the director wanted to show, but it was a bit too much?
Nevertheless, it has got really nice visual effects overall, and the mysterious atmosphere are well set up through out the whole film, with great actors. Since I watch most of the films as a point of a visual artist, personally I enjoyed this film a lot.
It was clever to use water as the medium to show the birth, the death, and the fear. Sometimes it aslo used like blood as well.
Another remarkerble thing is the us of eels. They made a storng visual effect.
However, I don’t think it has got a well planned story. It seems like most of the audiences found this too, it is quite obvious when you see the reviews on the internet. At the beginning, it seemed like the film wanted to talk about our desires, like cravings for the success in careers and money, which gnwaing at people’s minds, but At the end, the desire turns into that of the one creepy guy, who wants to live a eternal life, and maintain that “purified” blood.
This film doesn’t give a clear explanation about why and how it happened and even the ending is vague that it can be accepted in different ways. I definitely want to watch it again, trying to find out what the director really wanted to say.
