LIZZIE FINN

There was the Professional Practice lecture on 2nd November, and it was given by Lizzie Finn.

She is an illustrator and art director, and is currently the course leader for MA Illustration and Visual Media at LCC.

She graduated CSM Graphic Design course in 1996. After leaving her university, she has done variety field of work, including music albums, fashion magazines and even furniture shop catalogues.

It was interesting to see how she organise her work in process pieces in unique shapes, to make sure they don’t look too messy.

She emphasised the importance of using libraries as visual resource. Also, she suggested to reference some artworks around 90s, artworks that only that generation can understand.

She is interesting in using textiles and stick lines in her works. As a result, her works look quite different from typical illustrations.
