All updates about the university of Brighton Sites in the occasion of inclement weather

Weather Update 27 February, 3PM

There has been continuing snowfall through the morning today (27 February). All buildings remain open and accessible. There has been disruption to the following University sites during the day. The latest update for these areas is as follows:

  • At Exion27 – Access to Crowhurst Road has been restored and the roads have been gritted
  • At Falmer – Routes to the campus are clear. Car parks and walkways have been re-gritted and a snow plow is also clearing areas with heavier snowfall to maintain access
  • At Eastbourne – Access routes are clear. However, extra care is recommended when walking around, with snow on the ground at the car parks
  • For Brighton bus services – The University’s bus service (provided by Compass Travel) is travelling to all sites. The service is running at a reduced speed due to the weather conditions. Normal service has resumed for Brighton Bus services (visit the website for up-to-date details).

Please take extra care when walking and travelling around sites and keep to gritted paths. You can check the University’s Weather Updates blog for useful information to help you prepare for the weather and plan your travel.

The University’s Estate and Facilities Management (E&FM) department is continuing to take all reasonable steps to ensure that sites and academic buildings can be safely accessed by students and staff.

If weather conditions worsen, the first message will be sent to University email addresses of all students and staff at approximately 6am. Updates will also be posted to: studentcentral, staffcentral, the University website and social media channels.

If you have any questions or require further information please call: 01273 643163.
