What it’s like to study at Brighton as a state-sponsored international student
Farah Abdulsalam studies our Marketing Management BSc at Brighton. Farah is an international student from Kuwait who is sponsored by the Kuwait Cultural Office (KCO) to study in the UK.
We asked Farah about her thoughts on studying here and student life at the University of Brighton.
About KCO sponsorship
The Kuwait Cultural Office (KCO) sponsor a number of students at Brighton every year. Their aim is to provide financial support for Kuwaiti students looking to study at British universities.
The university is proud to connect with organisations like KCO, so it’s great to hear feedback from our students. Farah explained why she decided to apply for the KCO sponsorship scheme: “I always wanted to experience new places, different cultures and learn new things in this environment.”
Her advice for other Kuwaiti students considering applying to the scheme? “If you’re planning to study in the UK, I would highly recommend engaging with and getting involved in the local culture. Take the time to explore the city and try new experiences. And don’t forget to balance your studies with some fun”.
Farah’s student life
Farah studies our Marketing Managment BSc degree in the School of Business and Law.
This course immerses students in the reality of marketing in today’s climate and provides our students with opportunities to gain practical skills in marketing strategy, activity and reporting.
Farah says: “My experience studying at the University of Brighton has been good.
“My favourite thing about marketing is how much value we provide to society by helping people easily find products and services that can immensely increase their lives.”
