First workshop of the new academic year
On Saturday 9 November we held the first UBATO of the new academic year.
Over 40 art educators from primary, secondary and FE, as well as some of Brighton’s student art and design teachers attended. It was an inspirational day with nine member-run workshops on offer:
- wet felting
- fun with ellipses
- digital manipulation
- Modroc frames
- expressive painting techniques
- photographic origami
- book sculpture
- oil painting
- tackling the fear of drawing.
Julie Howard, UBATO lead, said: ” An amazing and valuable day was had by all. We ended the day with the UBATO forum, where we discussed the dangers and the advantages of using AI as teachers in art and design.
“We cannot wait for the next UBATO day, which is in two weeks time, when we will be welcoming artist Carne Griffiths to the University to run an artist teacher workshop day for us.”
Fancy joining us for the Carne Griffiths workshop? We have a limited number of tickets available to non-members.
