The main artist of inspiration for this project is Peter Deligdisch, an artist I used to watch all the time on youtube. His videos show his process as well as being accompanied by a stream of consciousness as a voice over. I always loved how he didn’t draw from inspiration and how he let whatever materials and surface he was using at the time take the lead.
I decided to do this project after the success of the work I made with Emma Stibbon, where I allowed myself to follow the motions and work intuitively.
I wanted to make a project based on the ’Materiality of Drawing’ workshop and have a body of work at the end that feels like a personal journey, a visual stream of consciousness. I will consider writing some thoughts alongside it but it depends on how it will benefit the collection.
