As this if the first project, I was excited to be back at university and get into a form of routine. As the project was introduced to us, I loved the concept of it as I fell like it was very personal and sentimental. Letting us choose the object to work with was yet another part of this project which I really enjoyed as it gave me full creativity and control over the work which I produced, and this also meant that there were no limitations. Going further, giving us the freedom of choosing an object to work with meant that I could either choose something which was sentimental or something which was a little more artistic and conventional. I personally went down the route of choose a sentimental object as I felt like it added more value to my work. Likewise, choosing a sentimental object also meant that I had experience with it which allowed me to explore and put that into my work, my object carried history which I could explore through my work. Alternatively, something I found difficult during this project is the factthat we were not given a source: a designer for example who we could base our work of. I found it particularly hard when it came to essay writing as I felt like I did not have enough source to write a whole essay about.
Overall, I really enjoyed this project. Being introduced to the concept of flat lays and creating them which is a lecture I particularly enjoyed as I am a tactile personal and I enjoyed learning in that way and being creative with fabrics, magazine scrapes and different props.
