In my project proposal, I mentioned wanting to create pin badges and things I could sell in my own shop. I still don’t feel confident to sell my work, I think this is because I want to be able to sell things that have a stronger message and mean something to those buying my artwork. I want the peace I get drawing and painting to be translated to the person buying my work. I don’t want my work to lose its context which is always a danger when money is involved. However, I have gotten a lot better at keeping an active Instagram @spinningoutoftime.
I bought some Fimo and started experimenting which has been really fun, and I’m excited to continue making Fimo things through summer. I was unsure on how I felt about my first creations but the feedback from my housemates has been amazing, and this has increased my confidence in what I’ve made so far and to continue making things.
