I love medieval manuscripts, specifically the strange surreal characters and creatures drawn so carefully in the boarders. They always have strange faces and it could be cool to somehow turn them into caricatures – an idea for collaging first!

I was watching Season 9 of Taskmaster while drawing and there was a joke when the Taskmaster misheard one of the comedians say “imagine you’re a meer” instead of “mayor”, so I just started imagining Greg and Alex as meerkats having a funny conversation.

I think these could potentially be two good starting points for developing my caricatures, and I could use digital drawing to create meerkats with the heads of Greg and Alex. I get a little scared drawing faces in pen but I don’t really like doing pencil outlines, so maybe I would find working digitally easier. It would also be good to add colour too – I could even try painting the characters, or at least the backgrounds.
