The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. The next REF exercise will be in 2029. This briefing will provide an overview of the REF and how REF 2029 will differ from previous versions of the exercise. This session will summarise key policy developments for REF 2029 and how a submission is being prepared at the University of Brighton, with time for questions at the end.
