The session will begin with an introduction from members of the Research and Knowledge Exchange Pre-Award Team, outlining the internal pathway to follow when applying for external research funding and the support available to you as an applicant within the University of Brighton (UoB). The team will then provide an overview of the current funding landscape, explain how to stay updated with news from funders, and discuss how to develop your bid writing skills by becoming a peer reviewer or evaluator for an external funder.
The session will conclude with a panel discussion led by members of the UoB community who have links with external funders as reviewers or who work as Grant Capture Leads at the university. They will discuss their roles, how interaction with external funders has benefited their bid development methods, and there will be time for a Q&A session from the floor.
