Day 9 “screech” and “university”

I thought combining the #inktober2017 and #brightinktober themes for Day 9 would be impossible, but as things turned out it was a fairly accurate description of the last 24 hours.  Travelled to the Netherlands on Sunday for two days teaching at the University of Wittenborg, Just outside Amsterdam. (UoW delivers some Uni of Brighton accredited degrees and wanted their staff to undertake our PgCert in Learning & Teaching in HE. ) Colleague and I checked into the hotel, finished planning the first session over supper and then retired for an early night. Middle of the night, woken by an unearthly screeching noise, tracked down to the radiators. Finally made it stop, went back to sleep only to be woken an hour later by the same noise, along with everyone else on the corridor. So my drawing for today is an attempt to tell that story in pictures!

Inktober Day 7

forgot to post this here yesterday. Inktober2017 subject was “shy” and Brightinktober  was “pier”. Not sure if I’d call Hastings pier shy, but it’s certainly more self effacing than the brasher versions along the coast. I love its emptiness and austerity – leaving you to focus on sea and sky

Inktober Day 8

today’s subject was “Grubbs” I had to look that up to find it was a hamburger cafe in Brighton. Nothing like that where I live but my vegetable patch has been invaded by a different kind of grub – pesky cabbage white caterpillars have munched all my kale down to the stalks – gutted!

Inktober Day 1

Dusting off this blog to use for future resources around drawing and learning. Meanwhile I’m joining in with the Brighton version of #inktober .  Day 1 subject was “seagull”  – catching up late at night (and living inland) I had to rely on google images for reference – and for speed used drawing app Paper.
