AD138- Fashion Illustration and Styling

PLAN FOR THIS MODULE:

I’m not going to lie the start of this new module had me a little stuck, I couldn’t figure out what route to go down as illustration is not my best skill. These past few weeks since we got the new brief, I’ve been looking through different pathways to take and trying to figure out my main starting point. Firstly I thought of different mediums and skills that I liked, this is were Graphic Design and typography came to mind, these have been my most loved concepts within art and design, I just didn’t know how to apply them to the brief. After researching I came across screen printing a medium I skimmed across in the last project and relived on how much I enjoyed it. I’ve decided for this module a main path I want to take is screen printing.

I’ve been looking through Pinterest and different artists to find inspiration, here is some of what I found:

The two screen print artists I found were Melanie Bowles and Atelier Bingo which make interesting illustrations with screen printing, that involve bold colours and abstract shapes. Even those these are screen prints I feel i can still use them for inspiration for illustration and a theme that I could pursue in my final zine.
