Darkroom workshop 25/11/16

Darkroom Workshop

On Friday (25/11/16), we had another darkroom workshop, this was by far my favourite as we were enlarging our images. We used the enlargement machine and got taught how to set the machine up (taking the slide out, putting in our film, setting the f-stop and aligning the picture frame, in this case we done 6×4).

  • This is an image of the type of enlargement machine we used. It was a good workshop as know we know how to enlarge our images we can go and use it anytime and darkroom photographs are good to put in our sketchbook to show our experimentation.

We firstly created test strips, in order to see what exposure (f-stop) to use, using a piece of card to cover the picture and pulling it back every 2 seconds.

These are my test strips, the first one is with F11 and second is with F16. We decided that F16 was the best as it was not too dark and should expose it for 5 seconds.
