GEPE slide workshop- Phil Tyler Workshop (12/10/16)
On Wednesday 12th October, we had a slide workshop with Phil Tyler. We were asked to buy and bring 10 GEPE slides from the shop, print out some images we had taken in contact size on acetate and gather together a other drawing materials such as ink, pens, sellotape, scotch tape, scissors etc.
I was unsure what we would be doing as I had never used GEPE slides, however in the end the workshop was very enjoyable an useful. We had to cut out each image and put it into a GEPE slide frame, then taking the materials we bought experiment and manipulate them by drawing over them, catching ink between two layers of film, cutting film up and putting it back together and so on. I felt it was a really beneficial workshop as it developed my creative ideas and my skills in experimenting with creating a a completely new image depicting my skills.
I have inserted some of the images from the slides:
Above areĀ images of the slides I manipulated, I am happy with the outcome of them however if I were to do this again I would use more different coloured inks and play around with which ones work best, I would also bring my pro markers to try and draw over the slides. I would like to do this again when I have professional pictures of sheer tights as it would be a good experiment to document within the project.
