  • I spent the year on the ‘Girls Toys Team’ for categories: Dolls, Dress Up, Role Play, Arts & Crafts and Party
  • Approving marketing materials, submitted to TWDC by Licensees
  • Managing Licensees and maintaining TWDC’s relationship with them – organising & attending regular meetings, attending to their needs and queries through calls, emails etc.
  • Product innovation – brainstorming product ideas for new & current theatrical releases, to pitch to licensees
  • I took the lead on a new dolls range project & pitched the product to a well-known UK toy licensee
  • Entering & submitting, licensee’s agreed new contract or contract renewal terms into TWDC’s contracts system ‘Determine’
  • Entering & submitting, licensee’s agreed contract amendment terms into TWDC’s contracts system ‘Fusion’
  • Creating & distributing weekly reports, on the success of TWDC’s product approvals
  • Toy & Entertainment Market analysis, through the use of NPD (an database created by a market research firm who provides consumer shopping trends, market information, & advisory services to retailers and brands across industries around the world).
  • Assisting the Franchise team’s strategy planning for new theatrical releases, such as Frozen 2.
  • I assisted a primary research study conducted by TWDC, looking at how and why children play with toys, across the G5 market
  • Attending licensing events on behalf of TWDC to seek new, potential partners e.g. Brand Licensing Europe, Toy Fair, Top Drawer Fair etc.
  • Regular store checks to identify product innovation, retail execution, promotional activity & what our competitors are doing that we should be.
  • Keeping check of our toy sample room
  • Scheduling & attending regular meetings with our Public Relations team, in order to identify how we can increase the success of some of our theatrical releases, characters, Disney channel programmes etc.
  • Daily use of Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, TWDC’s product approval systems, contracts systems & media archives.
