I Looked at WGSN to see what they had about Korean fashion.

One that popped up was called “Ultra Korea”

With the keys themes being

• Patchwork punk
• Urban stealth
• Sports Kit
• Tonal Checks
• high contrast type
• Crisp Shirting
• Core cross body bag
• Must have style sneaker

I went ahead and created my own boards to match the trends spotted by WGSN, capturing looks of Korean Idols on and off stage over the past couple years.  Looking at each theme individually. Korea has a way of styling fashion that is different to the west however its slowly starting to come across into American and the UK due to how popular k-pop has become. I believe the styles and trends that are new in the UK have  come across from South Korea. AS shown bellow from the collection of photos as these idols have been wearing these looks for the past couples of years to the present day. This style of clothing is something i would work with, I like the street style trends with a smart aspect with it. Working with the laters, cuts and accessories to create more striking looks.

Another board that took my interest was the “Punk Principles A/W 20/21: Jewellery Design Capsule.”

This one looked into the future trend of mens jewellery something i have admired for a while as think mens jewellery is looked past.

The key themes being:

• Chunky Chain collar
• DIY drop earrings
• Pendant chain belt
• Statement slogan ring set
• Leather Hardware bracelet

The final one i looked into was the trend board for ‘Mens Tailoring”

Main themes being the following:

• The utility influenced blazer
• The large lapel retro suit
• The sporty trimmed blazer
• The visible construction blazer
• The design detail blazer

Many of these elements i had seen worn by the Korean idols i follow when they attend award shows, being dressed many different designers. Dior being one and the new collections by Kim Jones follow a lot of these themes creating a whole new market for Dior.
