Video editing

After getting feedback from Chris and family about my video idea of adding in he footage i have edited from the concert onto the old TV’s. The feedback i got was liking the idea of the screens playing at different times and playing different videos however Chris and some family members have suggested to try add in effects to make it look like the other blank screens look like are they on or could turn on through the clip so its not to static.

So i went onto youtube to look at free stock footage of a fuzzy tv and glitches to see what effects i like best and what could work on my video. The link bellow is the playlist i look at for different styles and downloaded a few to text out what works and what doesn’t.

The one i downloaded where;

Analog vs. Digital – Noise Effect

Static TV Error – Broken Screen Effects HD Footage

Top 10: Looping Glitch Backgrounds (VHS effects)
Static vhs noise – experimental vcr glitch footage

Free Static Glitch Screen – Red Retro TV

Going off the footage and style of TENS comeback i am leaning towards the red retro style as it fits with the colours of the album, however i think the analog vs digital is a more realistic style. I will add them in and see what works best.  Leaving the fuzzy tv’s on around while the clips play give off the effect of them coming to live at any point. I staggered the other 3 clips to play at different times to play on this. I used the analog vs digital for all the Tv screens that are not showing films but i changed and played around with the opacity and blend mode so they were all slightly different to fit with the fact that the Tv types are different. Then i used to red retro style for the screens that so play the footage as it means the eye is drawn to those one slightly more.

I think this style of VHS video will sit well the the target market that the album is being aimed at, due to the fans having seen this concept and idea from other idol groups and through TEN with his work with NCT as they hold a retro vibe across their group.
