60’s Photoshoot – Zine

When i was planning to do a 60’s inspired photoshoot i went straight to Pinterest to build up ideas and to get ideas from photographers looking a the style of the photograph, the styling, backgrounds and editing.

I didn’t want to replicate the photos exactly but i liked the colours used and took this as my colour pallet for my photoshoot and zine theme. I also liked the fact that even though you can tell the pictures are posed its fun and carefree with the two models, there for i used two friends to get that chemistry across in my photos as i wanted the same effect. I tested out colour and black and white editing to see what looked best with my photos, however i did sway towards preferring the colour photos because of how much the outfits stood out and the black and white lost this element, though i did use black and white for two pictures within my zine because a lot of iconic 60’s photos espesially ones with Twiggy are black and white.

These photos being a few i selected and edited for my zine, doing the photoshoot on location, looking at   different locations to get the perfect backdrop, finding different locations to work with the inspiration i have taken from some 60’s fashion photos. The car was a perfect find and fit well with the style i wanted to portray, the white house and stairs stood out to me and i wanted to use this as the location as the makes the yellow and red stand out above everything else. Even though my zine topic is Twiggy i focused of colour and i think that was i have i managed to make stand out through out both my photoshoots.
