Giorgio Armani Exhibition Milan 29/09/23

During the last week of September I was lucky enough to go to Milan for a few days. During my time there I visited a handful of exhibitions but one that particularly struck out to me was the Armani/Silos Exhibition space, showcasing past collections and archive pieces. Armani as a brand is not one I am particularly familiar of nor was I that invested in pre going to this exhibition, however, exploring this visual space and the incredible designs was a big eye opener for me and I left feeling inspired going forward with my own work.

An aspect that struck/interested me most was the photography floor when thinking about my work photography and styling is where the core of my interest in fashion is and I felt particularly inspired by the works of photographer Guy Bourdin shooting for  Charles Jourdan. His creations and ensemble of the imagery was fascinating, I felt his work was telling me more of a story than just a pretty picture. The visual suggestion of the imagery having a horror/ uneasy vibe is exactly what I want to try and incorporate within my final piece and I will go onto to use him as research towards my final piece.
