NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY

Seeing some of the most famous work at the National Portrait Gallery was inspiring. As it wasn’t just of photographs, there was also fine art; which is important as it reminds you to refer to the past of art in your own work and the context of the work too. The famous photograph by ‘Isabella Blow’ about Mcqueen coming out as homosexual could symbolise his identity where he chose fashion to hide behind as a way to express the real him. As the theme of my zine is about gender and identity, this is eye opening.
