Ron Bass
I decided to use white acrylic paint to express the words ‘Reb’, ‘Riot’ and ‘Rise’ as I see this as a form of making the leather your own. I have looked at the artist Ron Bass and how he uses the leather jacket as a form of expressing emotions. I think that the biker jacket has now become a form of advertisement in the sense of showing your feelings and thoughts through fashion, also known as anti-fashion. People may not like seeing “stop war” on leather but it brings such a statement and juxtaposition between such a violent thing on a ‘fashion’ item.
