This blog was first set up as part of my TESOL with ICT Masters degree module re: ELT materials. After completing the module, I thought it would be a great way for me to develop and reflect on my use of technology for learning and pedagogy. Currently, I am teaching at an International College, in Brighton, for students who are completing GCSE, Foundation and A-level courses. The demands and expectations of these types of students are that digital materials, equipment and assessments are supported by the institution.
There is a lot of discussion surrounding technology and digital literacies in education. My feeling is that the digital age has thrust learning theories such as connectionism, socio-cultural perspectives and constructionism in to the ‘spotlight’ as a means of affording these learning paradigims.
