FMP in progress April

After the outdoor shoot inspired by the Vietnamese street, I have ask my best friend in Vietnam to take few pics of Vietnamese street for me, so that I can include in my book as well. It easier to view both Viet pic and editorial pic in here and see the similarity. It also represent my identity that belong to where I came from and evolve from where I am living now. I also made a questionnaire form in Vietnamese for Viet friend in the Uk and in Vietnam share their memories and I will use those for context introduction for each dish in my book and between each dish to provide more deeper inside of how food and those memories shape our life and even wherever we go we still remember that.

Beside that I’ve been focusing on editing content pictures and look at lots of example for the book layout. Since some of my shoots are very vibrant and tutors suggested I should put them in large scale so I will keep my book in minimal style just to make space for the images. I don’t think complex font and insane graphic designs will match with my book. I want to keep it both authentic for Viet people and minimal space to make those editorial images stand out. When I test print them out I have shown some of my friends for their feedback and since they have similar experience as me, they gave me constructive advice such as adding Banh Mi pic or some objects common in Viet families such as bamboo toothpick, the red plastics baskets etc. I’m very happy to be able to shown my friends what I have been doing and receive different feedback from them

I’m very happy that 3 of my fashion editorials are published in 3 different online magazines. I have used Kayvar is a platform that for creatives to submit their works for some of online magazines. I would love to take this opportunities to submit my works for more exposures, not only good for my portfolio but also good for portfolio of people who I collaborate with. I’m very grateful to collaborate with many talented people in this project.

For my Banh Cuon shoot I got published and chose to be cover of 17:23 magazine

The Mundane Things shoot got featured in IMIRAGE magazine
