FMP in progress 6th March

This week was a very productive for me. I was in London to collect a garment from a CSM student for my shoot on Wednesday. I was having a tutorial with Jules on Tuesday and then I came to my friend place to make press on nails for the shoot. I was having two shoots on Wednesday. The first one start from 10am and it was a beauty shoot which focus on the make up inspired by the desire called Banh Da Heo. I had collected 3 lights from the studio up stairs back to Fashion Comm studio, with the help of the lift I was successfully managed to get those lights and set up in the studio. The MUA finish hair and makeup at around 12:30 and we start shooting. Since it was a beauty shot with basic pose, it went quickly and we managed to build up the makeup a bit which I can say we had two makeup look. We wrapped up and then I tidied the studio and return what I have loan.

I then working in classroom and wait until 4pm for the second shoot. The second shoot is outdoor I wanted to capture sunset and using flash in the dark so we start from 5:30. Make up and changing were in the classroom then we moved up to Queen’s Park. I was very lucky to have help from Iona and Bona with carrying the light uphill. This time I collaborate with Becca and she did a great job in taking beautiful photos. I made the shot list for her in advance so we just follow the guide. The battery of the light went out quite quick that we to turn on and off continuously, luckily Becca had her speed light so things getting better. I need to be more careful next time shoot outdoor in the dark, I should asked more people for help or double check the battery before and prepare back up plan.

I am very grateful to work with different talent people who make my vision come true for these photoshoot. When working with Mia, I would share my idea and vision and they create on their own rather specifically as for a look since I don’t have much knowledge on makeup. On the shoot, working with model who not a professional model, we would have spend time to fully explain the concept and working of posing reference. I always try to find the exact posture I want and work with the shoot so that the model can easily follow. I understand that I still made mistake by not giving a clear instruction on the shoot or unorganised, eventually I learned new things after every shoot and making sure I will be more careful next time. I still have a few more shoot to go and I’m excited to work and collaborate with new people.
