This week I learned about flat plan for my zine. At the moment I don’t have clear idea about how the layout my Zine would be.

I went to library to check some journal and I found this Forum photography journal page is what I want to have in my Zine. I need to learn how to create this in Indesign.

This is the first time I used Illustration, to be honest it is quite tricky but very helpful if I want to distort and rearrange the word.

In Friday I had fashion drawing workshop. I prefer drawing the figure small and focus on the details and the texture. In this workshop, tutor encouraged us to make bold figures with colour.

Also I did some continuous drawing, i really like this exercise as it is very relaxing and the results turned out very pretty.

This week I learned to make Book Binding, this was such a fun exercise but it takes time and need to focus when making. I want to print my Zine so I don’t think I would make this handmade one. However, I want to include some folding page inside, I might use the technique of the first one for it.

This one was made from bigger paper and I need to fold it carefully to make it like a small notebook. Then I mark and put thread through pages to secure it. Afterward I add cover page for it by using images from old magazine

I have decided the theme for my Zine is based on 4 archetypes of Carl Jung psyche theory: Persona, Shadow, Anima/Animus and the Self. Therefore my Zine would be divided into 4 chapter. I don’t want it to be a manual book so i’m trying to deliver all research into images or illustrations. I think it would be great if my zine have some folding page inside so the viewers can interact with these pages.

I have tried different typography with words related to my theme. I think it is interesting to write down the word in different ways and different colour. My favorite word is Shadow and Persona. The reverse word and the bold colour really make the word prominent.

I want my Zine has lots of colours and various typography.

In this week I studied about Indesign, this is my first time using this software. I think it is quite complicated at the beginning but after practicing it is very handy

I know how to create shape and adding text into this. There are many shapes that I can do. I also know how to make column and organize the text in the page. I would practice more in my free-time .

On Friday, I had Multiplatform workshop in which I understand the communication needs  a range of appropriate platforms. After watching few interesting  video about multi platform, I have to compare the pros and cons of different media. This is really good to realise that every platforms have their own advantages and disadvantages. I understand that depends on the topic and my target customers, i need to choose the perfect platform to promote it.

bout creating campaign for Knitting for teenager. Me and my friend think this topic would suit best to promote on tiktok as it has lots of teenagers in this social media. We also create a simple stickers and poster for this campaign.

This week tutor introduced about Zine and the new project. I am quite excited for this project as I will be responsible for every steps of creating a Zine. This is my first time doing sometimes required a lot of work like this therefore I am also very nervous and overwhelmed. I did not have any idea in the first week but the Zine can be anything so I will do more research

On Friday i brought paper and art material for “Understanding body figure” exercise. I cut a round shape out of the paper to put my face inside. I drew the hair and cut black paper to represent my bangs.
