After watching two Magnum photographer videos on the project “HOME” I found it very interesting learning about the flow of images. One of the Magnum photographers described how pictures need to flow in order to help the reader follow along. The Magnum photographer Mark Power (a photographer from Brighton) said that he wanted to make a project which was personal to him. At one point Power took pictures of the beach (in Brighton), but he thought that the images were too much of a cliché; however, Power described that the images will be shown in New York and Japan so they won’t see it as a cliché. Power also told us that it is hard to take pictures of somewhere which is familiar to you, so he would go to on walks to take pictures of things which were interesting to him.
It was intriguing to listen to the Magnum photographers because I got to learn about how to make images flow with one another (through colours, lines and shapes). It was interesting to see how different photographers made their images their own.
