From reading a passage of Roland Barthes “Camera Lucida” these are the main points I took from it.

This book looks into how photography can be memories for people.

A photograph contains a message without a code.

There are two types of message characteristics within a photograph. The connoted messages and the denotated.

The connoted meaning the meaning we produce in a photograph and the denotated consisting of the knowledge we acquire when looking at a photograph.
