Signs and Symbols~ Maria Short- Response to Reading

As part of my wider research I read signs and symbols by Maria Short. The piece provided me with lots of information useful to my project. A key segment of the text that I was particularly fond of was the discussion of signs and symbols. I find it interesting there is a discourse between photographers regarding whether or not intuition is real and can create great art, personally I feel it is and that you get a sense within the moment whether a great photograph is going to be produced. Furthermore, I took a great interest in the discussion of symbolism within the text as although symbols can be an incredibly important part of an image they are usually subtle and often down to the viewers own interpretation. Overall, I found this text insightful and useful in regard to my project.
