Magazine Cover
The aim of the magazine cover is to entice people to pick up the magazine and look inside. As a new brand, the magazine isn’t as established yet, and so it is even more important to have an engaging cover.
I had to be careful, as whilst my magazine promotes diversity, the choice of cover could narrow down my demographic. For example, if I had an older woman on the cover, then younger people may think it’s not for their age. Similarly, if there is a black woman on the first issue, the viewer may think the magazine brand is for the black community. Therefore my priority was an eye-catching and engaging image.
The strapline, along the side of the ‘F’ gives the reader an idea of the magazine concept: The real magazine for real people’
