Soul of a Nation

I visited the Soul of Nation exhibition on 2nd October at the Tate Modern. I chose this exhibition as when researching potential places to visit, this one particularly stood out as its message of revolution linked to the project. The exhibition celebrates the work of Black artists in American from 1963 for 2 decades. The work explores the political and cultural changes and events that occurred during this time-frame. The call for ‘Black Power’ and the issue of racism caused appalling racist violence.

I particularly liked this exhibition for its range of media on show: graphics, painting, collage, abstract, cartoons, photography and sculpture. The honesty and feeling of these artists draws you in.
