The images to promote this campaign online will appear on the Dr. Martens current Instagram page as the page already has 1.9M followers. Instagram is currently the leading social media platform that millions of people use every day and is completely free to use, creating a free platform of advertising. I was going to create a new page for the campaign but opted not to as it will not have the same audience that the official Instagram page has, instead I have opted for a hashtag #UPCYLEME. After a tutorial with Emma Collins she said that the best way to promote a campaign was through a instagram account that already has a huge following to get the audience; she also said to be careful with setting up a new hashtag as again if it hasn’t alright got a big following people will not necessarily see it. I have chosen to use the hashtag #UPCYLCEME as I will be promoting it through the Dr. Martens page. The current number of people using the hashtag #UPCYCLE me is 195 which is low, however with DR. Martens 1.9M followers and Paloma Faith’s, who will be the advocate for the campaign,  462K followers I am confident that this hashtag will gain an audience.

I made a mock-up of the page, above, that shows the hashtag in big writing over three posts which will be seen by followers. I also chose imagery that works with Dr. martens identity, rock & roll, punk and individuality. The image background is a screenshot of the actual instagram page and I edited the image to include my images.
