Using both found and primary imagery, I created images to experiment with the art of cropping. I specifically looked at experimenting with both colour and geometric shapes, as well as use raw marks in photoshop. Online SAMISH zine I printed the zine onto recycled newspaper, so that it followed the sustainability theme. Furthermore, it is cheap to produce, meaning the message can be spread. It also added an artisan feel associated with the Congo Sapeurs.
I decided to use the colour Gold as a backdrop, due to its reference to religious iconography associated with both Congo Sapeur and Amish subcultures. It also evoked the bright and happy mood of the Congo Sapurs. I also reused the fabrics above involved in both the styling and illustration development.
