Organised by the University of Brighton’s Social Work degrees, the Working Together to Safeguard and Promote the Welfare of Children day allows our students to learn more about other professional roles and consider their role in promoting the welfare of children and keeping them safe from harm.
The University of Brighton’s Social Work degrees annual Inter-Professional Education event brings together a wider range of professional groups, encompassing students from Education, Midwifery, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Social Work.
Says Zoe Wilson, second year Social Work MSc student:
The conference was a great opportunity to come together with other students from a diverse range of professions. It was insightful learning about the different perspectives and how different organisations work and how these differences can add value to practice. This was especially important when in the context of safeguarding children and adults
Recommendations for good practice, talks from specialists working in the field and small group work by students formed the main elements of the day.
