The ‘& Education’ pathway provides an opportunity for students with prior experience of work or study in health promotion/ public health to enhance their skills in formal education design, curriculum development and assessment.This can be particularly useful for those working in public health who have found themselves being expected to run classes, groups and workshops for the public or colleagues, without having had formal training in theories of adult learning, pedagogy or techniques for assessing learning and impact.
Student take only two health promotion modules, a research methods module, then three Education modules.

HS727 Learning by Design.
Students should have experience of delivering health education to patients, public, or cascading health training to their colleagues, or be prepared to gain experience of delivering such education whilst studying, eg through volunteering work arranged in partnership with the university, and taking the MSc part time.
The dissertation will include a strong educational component.
