Accredition

There is no mandatory professional registration for Health Promotion however there are two routes for professional registration which you can apply individually:

International Union of Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) – apply for registration as an accredited Health Promotion Practitioner. In the future we are hoping to accredit the Health Promotion masters with IUHPE so that students are automatically eligible for registration upon graduation (and payment of the fees). http://www.iuhpe.org/index.php/en/the-accreditation-system

UK Public Health Practitioner Register (UKPHPR) – applications are assessed locally so this is only available if you live and work in area running the scheme, such as Kent, Surrey Sussex. Application requires evidence of meeting standards developed using the Public Health Skills and Knowledge Framework  and is  intended for individuals who are already working at level 5 or above. The UK scheme is currently under review as part of a large reivew of the public health workforce led by Public Health England, and there are interesting discussions about having an online UK Public Health Skills passport for the future. http://www.ukphr.org/i-want-to-apply-for-registration/practitioner/
