ABS
ABS has been chosen as it can be melted and easily used for injection moulding, it is also recyclable and can be melted down again after use.
It is strong, lightweight and impact resistant. It is easy to colour which is good as the product needs to be available in a wide range of colours for the customisable aspect of the product.
Back Plate

The cut outs seen at the top of the back plate are designed to be used with heavy duty command hooks. The centre of each cut out is 60mm away from the centre line, 120mm away from each other, therefore this should be very easy to install. The command hooks will sit on the wall, causing no permanent damage and can be removed without a trace. The back plate will lower down and the hooks will go underneath the cut outs and hang nicely. The cut outs have 4mm fillets to add strength and reduce the sharp points on the product.
