At the moment Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft are running a project on natural dyeing. People are sent some yarns, fibres of their choice, and dye it based on a recipe of their own or one from Ethel Mairet’s book. Her book has long been the authority on natural dye plants and processes in the UK since its publication in 1916 and a later version in 1939.
