About the team
What does the Employability Hub do?
The Business School’s Employability Hub is your one-stop shop for all things related to your placement and your employability. The Hub is based in Room G3 of Elm House, this will be open throughout the week, but the staff are working both on-site and remotely and appointments are available with them in-peron and online. All materials and resources will be on My studies and on our Placement Portal Careers Connect
How does it all work?
Staff in the Employability Hub help students throughout the whole placements process. Whilst it is up to you to search for and secure your placement, we are on hand to support you – whether that is by directing you to placement opportunities, helping with your applications, conducting mock interviews, or inviting you to attend one of the many employability-related events we run throughout the year. For the first semester all appointments will be conducted via MS Teams.
By booking regular appointments with us through Careers Connect, you will be provided with the information, advice, and guidance you need until you have secured your placement. The more we get to know you, the better we can help you, so attending your appointments is key. And it doesn’t stop there – we also support you once you are out on placement.
