Award Winning Placement Student’s Experience with PRGX UK Ltd.

After applying for the Placement Analyst role with PRGX UK Ltd. I was unsure as to what to expect.  As a perspective applicant, I had hoped to gain a year’s valuable experience on my CV, to develop my soft and hard skills, as well as promote my future employability prospects. This is already proving worthwhile, with recruiters reaching out about future opportunities. I also saw this as an opportunity to move away for a while, meet new people and work alongside senior and experienced members of staff. The placement year gave me a chance to prove, in a working environment, what I am capable of.

While on placement, the learnings I have taken away are proving valuable, and applicable to all areas of life. Soft skills I have developed include, communication and interpersonal skills and working independently and within in a team where required. This has enabled me to work innovatively during my time on placement to bring improvements and benefits to the organisation.  PRGX have offered opportunities and encouraged me to take on responsibilities. One example, helping support and assist the management of five, offshore analysts from India. I have also been able to massively improve my knowledge and ability to use Office 365, particularly Excel. During my time on placement and at the University of Brighton, I have improved my presentation skills and my confidence in public speaking. This is something I am keen to continuing working to improve.

This placement year has given me a valuable insight into the workings of the cooperate world and cemented my desire to work in a financial role post-grad. It has motivated me to work hard to achieve both my personal and working goals.

I was very grateful to receive an award nearing the end of my placement for ‘Operation Excellence’; working to improve audit processes and tools, growing client status within the company and showing a desire to learn and develop, seizing all available opportunities. It was a brilliant companywide evening at the Lowry hotel in Manchester.

Overall, my placement at PRGX and my experience of a placement year has been very positive. PRGX have offered support and made me feel like a valued team member from day one and have provided excellent social and working opportunities. I would highly recommend a placement to anyone considering applying.
