The idea of this macro trend relates to how we are as a society, and thinking about where we are heading, with technology and social media being key influencers in our progression both in our sociology and psychology. Sociology being that we are told we need a presence on social media and to stand out, but our personal psychology leading us to just want to fit in, to be a part of this media-based collective of millions of people.

So which are we? What do we follow? Our nature of wanting, needing, to be inclusive and equal, or being bold and standing out. Can we have both and still be ourselves? or does this create a world of confused, out of place people who have one life in the virtual world and another in the real world; as far as I can see it is very black and white, with not a lot of acceptance in between.
