Over the last few weeks i have been taking part in life drawing session on a Wednesday afternoon. within these session i have been learning about the different types and styles of fashion illustration, particular drawing techniques and learning how to use a range of mixed media within my fashion illustrations. The first week of the sessions looked at the different types of drawing styles out there such as, blind drawing, peak drawing and line drawing. I also had a go at drawing for different time lengths e.g. 30 second to 15-20 minute drawings.
This is one of the drawing i created using the peak technical way, i had 15 minutes to draw this image.
the second week of the sessions was about introducing mixed media into the drawings, this was very enjoyable as i found it added a complexity new element and dimension into my outcomes.
the image on the left was created using pen and ink, i had 5 minutes to complete this drawing. The image on the right was created using 5 brush strokes of ink on each of the figures.
The next session looked at introducing portraiture, this was something completely new to me, however buy using the grading system i was able to take the image (left) from a magazine and draw my own copy of tis (left).
