Education studies fieldtrip to the Childcare and Education Expo
A group of students studying Early Childhood Education and Care BA(Hons) and Education BA(Hons) degrees recently went on a field trip to the Childcare and Education Expo in London, the UKs largest education event, which offers a range of features and opportunities for attendees to enhance their professional development, network with peers and explore innovative products and services.
Throughout the day, students were able to:
- attend CPD seminars and workshops
- hear talks from over 40 expert speakers from the sector
- learn about industry and regulation updates
- explore products and services by leading early years suppliers
- network with like-minded professionals working in education and early years
- be inspired and enjoy spending time with their peers.
The transport to London was paid for by the university, and packed lunches were also provided from extra funding provided by Belong at Brighton, a project run by the university to encourage students to develop closer comradery and a sense of learning community.
Dr Lesle Whiteman, course leader for the Early Childhood Education and Care BA(Hons) said: “This valuable event provided the students with an unparalleled platform of educators, childcare providers, and industry experts to acquire new knowledge and explore the latest trends and innovations in the early childhood education sector.
“Such an experience ensured the students were able to develop a couple of the graduate attributes; by confidently communicating their employability goals with industry experts.”
