Education BA conference 10th anniversary
This year marks 10 years of our annual Education BA conference which was rightly themed ‘celebrating students as researchers’.
The event, which is aimed at Education BA (Hons) students from all three years, provides our ‘community of learners’ with a unique opportunity to share and celebrate the outcomes of student-led enquiry and research that has been conducted over the course of the year.
Most importantly, the day provides everyone with an occasion to acknowledge the hard work students have put into their studies and to celebrate each of their successes.
The event was opened with keynote speaker Rebecca Dean, who graduated from the Education BA(Hons) in the summer of 2021 with a 1st class Honours degree and is currently studying for her PGCE. Her keynote reflected on her dissertation entitled: An Investigation into the Implementation and Teachers’ Perceptions of the Relationships and Sex Education (2019) Policy in relation to LGBTQ+ Inclusivity.
The day also involves a number of activities including year 2 student-lead presentations highlighting their experiences on placement, round table discussions for final year students to discuss dissertations and poster presentations as part of the assessment for the placement learning module for our year 1 group.
