Curriculum Centre hosts unmissable IBBY exhibition!
The School of Education Curriculum Centre is delighted to have yet again been chosen to display a collection of children’s books from the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY).
IBBY is a non-profit organisation founded in Switzerland in 1953, which represents an international network of people from all over the world who are committed to bringing books and children together.
The collection is part of the IBBY Honour List 2018, a selection of outstanding, recently published children’s books; honouring writers, illustrators and translators and encouraging international understanding through children’s literature.
On display, we have 59 illustrated children’s books which have been carefully selected as the best example of a recently published book from IBBY national sections around the world.
Hosting this collection represents a unique opportunity for staff and students to view and handle a diverse and exciting set of beautiful children’s books from a myriad of cultures and traditions.
The exhibition has already attracted a number of visitors, including one of our art students who commented on how the books in the collection would be ideal in teaching children about character design. Another student commented on how great it was to have such “a diverse collection of books, representing countries and cultures from all over the world”.
This unmissable exhibition will be on display in our Curriculum Centre, Checkland Building C400,Falmer campus until Friday 15 February. Be sure to come and experience it – All welcome!
