Art and Design PGCE peer-led workshops
Every student on our (Secondary) Art and Design PGCE brings their own art subject expertise, experience and practice to the course and we develop this rich vein by sharing ideas and techniques through peer-led workshops. These sessions are planned and taught by our students, who then receive feedback from course leaders to help develop their subject knowledge and planning skills.
Workshops have included techniques such as:
- expressive drawing
- collaborative sculpture
- screen printing
- textile and simple weaving techniques, batik
- plaster casting
- ceramics
- wet room photography
The School of Education has excellent art studios, facilities and specialist equipment. Trainee teachers also have access to over 30,000 specialist teaching resources in our curriculum centre. Students have highlighted these as key strengths of the course.
