The Concordat – this is an agreement between the University that sets out the expectations and responsibilities of researchers, their managers, employers and funders to enhance career support and development. See this video on our blog for more info.

 

KEF – The Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) was announced as part of the government’s Industrial Strategy which, among other things, promised increased funding for research and knowledge exchange activity.

REF – The REF is the UK’s national exercise for assessing the quality and impact of research as well as the vitality and sustainability of research environments in UK Higher Education Institutions. The exercise is undertaken by the four UK higher education funding bodies. The assessment provides accountability for public investment in research and produces evidence of the benefits of this investment.

URAKEThe Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee (URAKE) is the key strategic committee of Academic Board responsible for all aspects of research and knowledge exchange. The Committee will recommend any major new policies in relation to research and knowledge exchange to the Academic Board for approval.
