Avick Sinha is making medicine in space possible – in form of a pocket-sized “lab-on-a-chip”. Inside its hair-thin channels, two liquids meet and break the mixture into perfectly even droplets. The droplets are then turned into tiny, shelf-stable beads that astronauts simply dissolve in water whenever they need a dose; no bulky laboratory required.
