Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Throughout this project thus far the main issue I have faced is logistics, its booking spaces to find out I cant use them for my set, to then change to a different space move all my equipment and MDF boards to a different rea to find out lights don’t work. So now I will be using the lighting kits from M55 which is what I originally didn’t do due to their limited flexibility when it comes to lighting. To say I am disappointed is a complete understatement. I feel as though with this project I am hitting wall after wall which is purely logistics. I have now had to cancel my first shoot as I believe this set back will need a lot of rethinking. Very kindly Claire from the photographic department has offered to help figure out some kind of lighting. I originally had booked out the Performance studio due to its theatrical lighting however most of these don’t even work anymore. So… We will be exerimenting with a our ligth set up including four soft boxes, Claire told me I would definitely need some umbrella lights in order to light the back of my set, however there are none… So this will need to be figured out some how. On the positive the stands of my set have been tested and hold it up extremely well, Chris Hagen has been an incredible help and also has been helping me to discuss the different ways I can paint the set in order to be make it more “painterly” This will be something we will be experimenting with on Wednesday. As for tomorrow I will need to purchase some empty pots to mix large quantities of paint. I want to do some swatches on he set in the middle of the red in order to reach my desired tone of rich sophisticate brown organe red colour as well as working on graduating the blue. I have to say this is proving to be on one of the most stressful weeks.
