VISITING THE TATE
So I decided to go to the Tate modern to see if there was anything relevant to my research. I actually came across a great exhibition on colour which was great for me to start thing about colours and their relationships.
The above two artworks initially I didn’t have much interest for, but as the room were filled with these posed questions it started to make me think. For instance about use of colour and how it can help us see movement and shape. This is definitely an area I’m hoping to experiment with.
Further Henri Matisse, The Snail, at first it seems quite unpurposful but it is interested when reading his quote about how colours can be both beautiful but once next to each other aren’t compatible on the eye.
SAFFO MONCLOA
I came across this photographer actually on instagram. Initially I didn’t realise she was a photographer as a lot of her posts seemed like artworks such as the below, but I absolutely love the style, they kind of almost seem lik bleeding watercolours which I really enjoy and thinking about these being blown up and used for a set is really exciting to me.
I then found she was in fact a fashion photographer and her work is stunning. She is great at taking an image and enhancing the colours of the fashion in the editorial layout like below.
